All measurements are in metric, metric cup & spoon and imperial. About the authors Jack Absalom, an Australian artist and adventurer, was born in 1927. He was one of the members of the Brushmen of the Bush, a painting group of five artists who got together in Broken Hill, New South Wales in 1973.It was active until 1989. The other members of the group were Pro Hart, Eric Minchin, John Pickup and Hugh Schulz. Jack has had a wide range of jobs, from mining opals, working as an engineering blacksmith, to running a cake shop and catering business. He also had a popular TV series, Absalom's Outback. He is the author of several books including Safe Outback Travel, Jack Absalom's Barbecue Cookbook and several painting books Reg Absalom was Jack's uncle. He was raised in the outback and worked for many years cooking on outback stations. He was an expert with the camp oven and many of the recipes in this book were his own creations.
