Her big test comes when her friend, Stephen Ko is captured by car thieves. Saving him is the most serious test

The Invisible Matilda Mudpuddle - Matilda's grandfather brings back some special blue jelly babies from the Bahamas. They make Matilda invisible! It only lasts for 3 hours, but that gives her plenty of time to have some serious fun - tickling teachers, teaching some beach bullies a lesson and even helping to nab some nasty bank robbers!

Matilda Mudpuddle Back in Time - Each time Matilda eats an olive that her grandfather brought back from Greece, she goes back in time: to watch Cathy Freeman win at the 2000 Olympic Games, to make friends with girls in Ancient Greece, to visit the first Queen Elizabeth, to sail on the Endeavour with Captain Cook, to visit the sick with Florence Nightingale and to fly across the Pacific Ocean with Sir Charles Kindsford Smith.

Matilda Mudpuddle and the X-ray Eyes - Not everyone can see through a brick wall, but Matilda Mudpuddle suddenly finds that she can see through anything. This special power will only last for a month, but during that time she discovers a new source of water for the city, she identifies a gang of thieves and she and her friend Stephen even find a little lost girl. Most importantly she uses her X-ray eyes to help other people.

About the author and illustrator

Gordon Winch MA MEd, PhD is one of Australia's best-loved children's authors. He was previously Head of the Department of English at Ku-ring-gai College of Advanced Education and is now a full-time author. He has had a lifelong involvement in literacy as a teacher, researcher and author. His published works include academic texts, research papers and a number of works of children's literature including a collection of his poems.

Dee Texidor is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. She specialises in children's and educational books.
