About the author

Darcey Bussell CBE was educated at The Royal Ballet School, where the late Kenneth MacMillan spotted her exceptional technique. He then championed her early career leading to her become a Principal ballerina at the Royal Ballet by the age of 20. She has danced in major ballets all round the world. Her grace and ability to inject heart-wrenching emotion into her performances has won the affection of the British public making her the top ballerina in the country. She retired from professional ballet in 2007, but has continued to be active in the world of dance. In 2012 she joined the judging panel on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing and became the President of the Royal Academy of Dance.

She lives in the UK with her husband and 2 daughters, Phoebe and Zoe, to whom this book is dedicated.
