About the authors. Dr Jane Bowen is a research dietitian and contributing author of the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet series as well as mum to Ava. She has conducted clinical nutritional trials to establish the health potential of diets, foods and nutrients. Jane coordinated the 2007 Australian Children's National Nutrition and Physcial Activity Survey. Dr Nadia Corsini is a research psychologist with a passion for children's health and wellbeing. She has recently designed and implemented strategies to help parents 'train the tastebuds' and encourage vegetable consumption in their preschoolers. Claire Gardener has both dietetics and physical-activity qualifications and a strong background in public health nutrition. She has been involved in a variety of state and national health initiatives promoting a healthy lifestyle. She is a mum to young son Henry. Dr Rebecca Golley is a paediatric research dietitian who has worked with over 500 parents and children. Her research has focused on developing practical information and resources for parents to help them inspire their families to lead a healthy lifestyle. Dr Amy Slater is a research psychologist, registered psychologist and mum to Lily and Lachlan. She has worked clinically with parents and children who have a wide range of developmental and behavioural issues. Her research has focused on adolescent sport participation, media use and body-image concerns. Associate Professor Manny Noakes is the stream leader for the Diet and Lifestyle program at CSIRO Human Nutrition, a multidisciplinary team of nutritionists, psychologists and exercise physiologists engaged in developing innovative programs for improving healthy lifestyle behaviour among Australians. Manny also manages clinical trials that provide scientific evidence for the efficacy of diet and exercise programs on health. Manny has published over 100 scientific papers, with a major emphasis on diet composition, weight-loss and cardiovascular health. She is a senior lecturer in the School of Medicine, Flinders University, affiliate senior lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Adelaide, and affiliate associate professor in the Department of Medicine, University of Adelaide. She is the co-author, with Dr Peter Clifton, of 3 CSIRO titles - the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet Books 1 & 2 and the CSIRO Healthy Heart Program.
