Little Fur goes in search of her friend, Ginger the cat, who has vanished completely in this third book in the Little Fur quartet. The wise Sett Owl tells Little Fur that she must first discover who or what the Mystery of Wolves is. The only creature Little Fur finds who has heard of them is a mad prophet. He explains that the Mystery of Wolves is a mystic order of wolves who dwell in the high mountains to the east of the city.
On an adventure that leads to more than just Ginger, Little Fur learns more
about her long-gone father and mother and ultimately risks everything she
loves to save the mysterious and dangerous humans who do not even
know she exists.
Little Fur discovers that her friend, the cat Ginger, is in terrible danger. Advised by the wise Sett Owl to seek out the Mystery of Wolves, Little Fur takes as her guide an old wolf whom she frees from the zoo. Greysong leads her high into the frozen mountains where she must face the deadly peril that lies at the heart of the Mystery of Wolves. The safety of Little Fur, and Ginger, will depend upon what she can learn about her own mysterious past. . .

About the author
Isobelle Jane Carmody (born 16 June 1958) is an Australian writer of science fiction, fantasy, children's literature, and young adult literature. She began the first of her highly acclaimed Obernewtyn Chronicles when she was 14, while she was still at high school, and worked on it while completing a Bachelor of Arts, and then a journalism cadetship. The series, and her short stories, have established her at the forefront of fantasy writing in Australia.
She has written many award-winning short stories and books for young people, including the Obernewtyn Chronicles, the Legendsong Saga, the Gateway Trilogy and many other novels, several collections and a volume of short stories. The Legend of Little Fur is Isobelle's first series for younger readers.
Isobelle divides her time between her home on the Great Ocean Road in Australia and her travels abroad.
