The Culinary Institute of Chicago, General Mills (Betty Crocker), Pillsbury, and many other major companies are featured, from 1880 to the 1980s. A scarcity index is provided, indicating the relative difficulty in locating a particular item. General as well as regional volumes are included. About the author:
The motto of author Frank Daniels is 'Anything that can be collected will be collected'. He has collected comic books, Beatles records and memorabilia and numerous other collectibles for approximately thirty years. He has contributed in one capacity or another to half a dozen books on the Beatles, including the Beatles Price Guide series. His Beatles website is one of the largest and longest-lived websites for Beatles collectors. He has written articles about collectibles, has had mystery short stories published, and has authored and co-authored philosophical writings.

Frank has collected cookbooks for over fifteen years. At his home, one room is filled with over 1000 cookbooks. Frank loves to cook for other people and actually uses the cookbooks that he buys, often creating recipes of his own. The artwork, the company histories, and of course the interesting recipes from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, are all of interest to him.
