Large new hardcover book with foreword by John Doyle (aka Rampaging Roy Slaven). 294 pages, published 2007

The surprise bestseller of 2006, now fully revised to include dangerous Australian content

The book which became an international phenomenon, Conn and Hal Iggulden's Dangerous Book for Boys, now comes with a stunning green and gold cover.

It covers around eighty topics, including how to build a treehouse, grow a crystal, or tell direction with a watch. Also included are famous quotes, stories, battles, and phrases that "every boy should know." In addition to all the information which made it such a hit - how to make the perfect water bomb, how to read codes, what are the rules of cricket, who were the Kings and Queens of Europe, what are the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World - and just how do you deal with girls? This gorgeous new edition is crammed with new Australian content.

Now you can read about local heroes like General John Monash at Gallipoli and the battles of Somme, get the lowdown on creatures that crawl, bite, sting and sometimes kill (and learn the first aid which can save you from them). It features Prime Ministers of Australia with pictures for each in colour and the rules of Australian Rules Football and lots more... With beautiful accompanying photographs, this is an indispensible book for all Australian boys, from eight to eighty.

About the authors

Born in London, Conn Iggulden read English at London University and worked as a teacher for seven years before becoming a full-time writer. Married with two children, he lives in Hertfordshire. His highly acclaimed debut novel, The Gates of Rome, was an instant bestseller, remaining in the Sunday Times top ten for over two months. It was the first novel in the Emperor series, in which he brilliantly interweaves history and adventure to recreate the astonishing story of Julius Caesar, an epic tale of ambition and rivalry, bravery and betrayal. The second novel in the series, The Death of Kings, spent ten weeks in the charts and reached the number 1 position. The Field of Swords is set to emulate this success once again.

Hal Iggulden was born in 1972. He lives in Leicester and is a theatre director with a love of astronomy, gadgets, dogs and football.
